About

Jon Woolley was born and raised in the small town of Rockwood, Ontario located one hour Northwest of Toronto (as the crow flies). He has always had a passion for creating things. As a child, he learned to tinker with things in his dad’s garage where they built and rebuilt various toys together. In high school, he took all Technology courses that were available.

Over the years, he has picked up hobbies to keep his mind and hands creating, including making a canoe paddle, his own hunting trailer and designing and creating his own set of snowshoes while living on a small First Nations reserve in Northern Ontario.

Knife-making, as a hobby, came to Jon over the course of the past several years. He is self-taught through watching videos and a lot of trial and error. He has built, reclaimed and macgyvered many of the tools he uses to construct his knives.

The process of making a knife is methodical and taxing. Some of the knives Jon makes are planned from the start, while others take shape as he becomes connected to the materials he is using.

His first attempt at making a knife was in 2017. Since then, he has refined his style and has gifted several creations to grateful friends and family. With encouragement, he is launching the sale of hand-made knives to you!

When he isn’t in his shop, Jon teaches at an elementary school. Outside of work, he is usually watching hockey or outdoors with his wife and young daughter.
